MECCA: Pilgrims on Thursday marked the first day of Tashreeq by performing the ritual of stoning the three Jamarat in Mina, beginning with the smallest Jamarat, followed by the middle Jamarat and concluding with Jamarat Al Aqaba.
Dr Zaher bin Abdullah al Hosni, Deputy Head of the Oman Haj Mission for Haj Affairs and Haj Companies, said pilgrims begin the ritual on the 11th day of Dhul Hijjah after the sun passes its zenith.
He explained that some pilgrims continue to perform Tawaf Al Ifadah, particularly those who were unable to complete the ritual on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah.
Dr Al Hosni added that pilgrims continue to stay overnight in Mina during the days of Tashreeq, with those opting to complete the full pilgrimage schedule remaining for all three nights.
Meanwhile, pilgrims who choose to hasten their departure stay overnight on the 11th and 12th days of Dhul Hijjah before leaving Mina, in accordance with Haj regulations.
The days of Tashreeq represent an important phase of the Haj pilgrimage, during which pilgrims complete key rituals in an atmosphere of devotion and spiritual reflection. - ONA
